New "Energy" option for ULiège's engineers!

imgActu

From September 2022, a new "Energy" option opens within the bachelor's program in engineering.

This adds to the other options already offered in the program (architecture, chemistry and materials science, civil engineering, electricity/electronics, biomedical engineering, georesources/environmental geology, computer science, mechanics, engineering physics) to organize the progressive specialization of undergraduate students. The "Energy" option focuses on the fundamentals of electricity, thermodynamics, mechanics, and chemistry supporting a cross-disciplinary approach of energy technologies.

Detailed Bachelor's Program in Engineering

The undergraduate "energy" option anticipates the creation of the new master's degree in energy engineering for which an accreditation request is submitted to ARES.  This new program is expected to welcome its first students in September 2023.  It aims at training new generations of engineers capable of meeting the challenges and seize opportunities in the field of decarbonisation of domestic and industrial activities.

The core curriculum of the future master's degree will develop the general skills necessary to address the issues of production, transport, storage, and use of energy, including not only their technological aspects but also the related economic, regulatory and societal questions. Advanced skills respectively in the field of the design of energy systems components and in that of the management of energy networks, included the specific issues related to renewable energies, will be developed through two specialized foci.
