A renewable part-time academic position (5%) in the field of "Real Estate Operations Management" is available in the Faculty of Applied Sciences.

JOB DESCRIPTION

A part-time (5%), indivisible position, in the field of Real Estate Operations Management within the Department of Architecture, Geology, Environment and Construction (ArGEnCo). This position essentially includes teaching activities aimed at developing students' skills in relation to current practices and approaches in the business world and related fields.

TEACHING ACTIVITIES

The theme of “Real Estate Operations Management” covers the fields of building programming and feasibility studies; the decision support processes aiming for the spatial, social, technical and economic integration of buildings, all of them promoting sustainable architectural design. The goal of this position is to complete the training of students enrolled in the architectural engineering curriculum, specifically in the field of real estate operations, in to do so through the ARCHXXXX-X course "Real Estate Operations Management".

In particular, the following teaching points will be considered:

  • Building programming and feasibility: project instruction and processing; management of clients’ requests; drafting of architectural options, surfaces distribution, functional design, design of alternatives; sustainable design and integration of future functions;
  • Patrimonial context: issue of location and site potential; constraints and impact of the building site; revitalization of the built environment; architectural landmarks, tangible and intangible values of architectural productions;
  • Anticipation of technical constraints: urban prescriptions; standards and regulations; design and constructibility;
  • Financial programming: cost evaluation methods; construction business models; financial plan for the building operation, design and maintenance (including repair and life cycle); future operations of rehabilitation;
  • Analyses and methods for multi-criteria decision support: identification of independent criteria impacting the building overall performance; parameterization and allocation of preferred functions, simulations and stability of scenarios;
  • Project set-up in real estate investment vehicle: articulation of the stakeholders (project owner, project manager, investor, builder, developer, distributor, operator and users)

The candidate will also participate in the supervision of internships and Master theses in his/her field of research.

The candidate will base his or her teaching on practical experiences and will feed it with real cases illustrating the solutions and approaches implemented within companies.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

  • A degree in architecture, engineering or architectural engineering or similar.
  • A strong industrial expertise and experience in the required field, as illustrated through a portfolio of large-scale national or international real estate projects. The candidate is ready to commit time and to devote energy to teaching activities and to linking the academic and professional worlds in the real estate sector, to the extent of the contractual commitment.
  • Facility in speaking English

SELECTION PROCEDURE

Applications will be pre-selected on the basis of the candidate's file by a selection committee created by the Faculty of Applied Sciences. Successful candidates will then be invited to an audition that will include a sample lesson, a presentation of their research project and a general discussion with the selection committee.
